If you are already aware of Cloud Computing, it will not be difficult for you to delve into Cloud servers. These two terms are related to each other and are almost the same in terms of the value as storage. When you enter the IT world, you can understand more about these two terms.

In a simple way, the Cloud server is one of the most important parts of the Cloud which its resources can be accessed by the users via a network in anywhere they are no matter how far the location is. For more detail about Cloud servers, read the explanation below.

What is Cloud Server?

Generally speaking, a Cloud server can be both a physical or virtual infrastructure that is firmly designed to store and process applications and information. This infrastructure is often called server computing that has been virtualized, and its resources can be accessed by the users even if resided in a remote area.

This very infrastructure can be beneficial to support an operating system in the same application, and most importantly, it can support every type of Cloud Computing delivery starting from Infrastructure as a Service or IaaS, Platform as a Service or PaaS, and Software as a Service or SaaS.

A cloud server is made of virtualization software to divide a physical server (bare metal) into multiple virtual servers. Organizations use an infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) model to process workloads and store information. They can access virtual server functions remotely through an online interface.

In most cases, there are two kinds of Cloud servers as follows:

  1. Physical, you are still allowed to access a physical server from a great distance by using the Internet. However, this server cannot be shared or distributed. Generally, this is what we called as bare metal.
  2. Logical, with this kind of sever, a physical server can be distributed to two or more logical servers, depending on the needs and its model.

What Are The Benefits of Using Cloud Server?

The benefits you can obtain by switching from a traditional to a Cloud-based server are threefold. Discover those benefits below.

1. Security

Security-wise, a Cloud-based server has the best stability there is. This is possible because the Cloud-based server cannot be affected by other Cloud servers. In other words, you will not be pompous when other users are using the server that caused disruption or overload. Moreover, if you diligently follow the security rules of using a standardized system, your data or information will remain safe and be stored in the Cloud-based software.

2. Scalability

The needs for computing resources merely changing rapidly. By using a Cloud-based server, you can scale the computing resources and the storage to meet the changing needs.

3. Budgetary

Another benefit of switching to a Cloud-based server is you can reduce expenses if you use it in a short period of time. By using this infrastructure, you will only pay according to your needs, and of course, this will reduce the costs that have been incurred for hardware maintenance. In addition, you can also avoid additional and renewal costs. Furthermore, this Cloud-based server is also classified as more stable and safer
